Manager
Reporting to the Director of Business Technology this position
will be a key member of the Technology group supporting our
Global enterprise. Applications Manager will be responsible
for leading a team of 14 IT professionals in two locations.
The position is responsible for management of application
development and support for all enterprise applications,
including PeopleSoft CRM and Dynamics as the two principle
products. Some travel will be required.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule and assign software development projects;
- Provide architectural and technical guidance to product
development;
- Ensures sound design, process and quality practices
are followed;
- Deliver high quality software products that
meet the organization's requirements;
- Develop standards
and procedures for the team;
- Evaluate new and/or enhanced
technologies;
- Provide feedback and training to members
of the development team, conduct performance reviews and
lead the recruitment and selection process;
- Assist in defining
customer requirements and working with the Development
Lead to develop quality solutions;
- Responsible for the
development of technical specifications;
- Responsible for
the development and implementation of new tools, technologies,
processes and techniques to improve the efficiency of our
Application Teams and our Application portfolios;
- Contribute
to overall strategic planning for the technology group
Qualifications:
- A Degree or Diploma in an Information Technology-related
discipline and a minimum of 7-years experience in Application
Development or an equivalent combination of education and
experience; Plus a minimum of 5-years experience leading
as a development lead or project manager.
- Proven Leadership
experience. Must be familiar
with leadership methods such as coaching, mentorship,
and motivation.
- Knowledge and or training in Accounting
principles would be beneficial
- Experience in designing,
implementing and governing a Service Oriented Architecture;
- Superior
communication skills
- Well developed time management skills,
with the ability to balance multiple objectives with challenging
timelines while motivating high performance staff;
- Thorough
understanding of application development methodologies;
- Understanding and experience implementing a wide range
of software design patterns;
- Strong skills with .Net 1.1/2.0
Framework, VB.Net, ASP .Net, Web Services, Knowledge of
web technologies, protocols, tools and languages including
XML, XSLT, ASP.NET, JavaScript, PeopleCode;
- Proven analytical
and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention
to detail;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including written
and verbal communication;
- Ability to effectively prioritize
and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience
working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment;
- Knowledge of Data Warehouse technologies and various
reporting environments
