Systems Administrator
Our Business Technology department is looking for a highly
motivated and energetic individual with a minimum five years
server administration experience in a Microsoft Windows and
Linux environment. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated
proficiency in a number of technologies, including Active
Directory, systems management, DNS, SMTP, IMAP and backup/recovery
services. The candidate will also have experience in supporting
high availability, mission critical infrastructure. In this
role you will be responsible for providing operational technical
support in both test and production environments. The candidate
should be a dedicated problem solver who can multitask and
prioritize tasks in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
Experience with virtualization technologies is an asset and
will be given preference.
Responsibilities
- System implementation
- Adoption of tools and standard operating procedures
- Implementing and testing patches and system upgrades
- Developing documentation
- Securing the environment, providing support and resolving
technical problems.
Qualifications:
- Senior knowledge of x86 architecture (Intel, AMD), Microsoft
Windows server systems (2000, 2003), Linux and VMWare ESX
Server.
- Skilled in server management including capacity planning
and monitoring.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP Networks, network concepts such as
network protocols, switches, routers.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical thinking skills,
communication and time management skills
- Linux shell scripting experience
- Driven and team focused.
- Able to adapt and acquire new skills quickly
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high paced work
environment
- University degree/College Diploma in related field preferred
- MCSE/MCSA/CCNA certifications are an asset
Details:
- Full time, 40 hours per week
